Meet our board of directors for 2024. We are all so excited to get to know our members and create some amazing events for you!
Board of Directors
President
Patricia Motahari
Currently: In my 3rd year of uni, studying a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Psychology.
Most excited to: Create new events that will benefit our students and help them meet and connect with each other. I am also hoping to increase engagement throughout the year.
Favourite place on campus: A restaurant called BAP (you’ll always find me eating there!)
I’m studying psychology because: I find studying people and how their brains work fascinating.
Vice-President
Keanna Lau
Currently: In my fifth year of uni, studying a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and Bachelor of Laws.
Most excited to: Grow MacqPsych and introduce more events to help students connect and gain a better understanding of career pathways in psychology. I'm also keen to work with the MacqPsych team to release more varieties of merch!
I'm really interested in: Developmental and educational psychology!
Secretary
Emma Fryer
Currently: I'm currently a second year Psychology student.
Most excited to: I'm most looking forward to getting involved in all the fun events that are coming up on the MacqPsych calendar (particularly the Ball)!
Favourite place on campus: When I'm on campus, my favourite place is the cafe in the central courtyard.
I’m studying psychology because: I'm studying psychology because I have a keen interest in how the brain works, and how we can solve problems in the brain to enable people to live a healthy and content life

Rachel Ygnacio
Currently: In my second year of uni, studying a Bachelor of Psychology!
Most excited to: Meet old and new members of the society throughout the year and work with my amazing team to improve events while keeping them at a reasonable price for all of us!
I'm really interested in: The field of developmental psychology and would love to go into a career in this.

Joshua Gomez
Currently: In my second year of uni, studying a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours).
Most excited to: Use Macq psych's platform to engage all Psychology students, build a community and foster friendships.
Favourite place on campus: The central courtyard.
I'm studying psychology because: I want to become a registered Psychologist to help people achieve their full potentials.

Serene Palleygedera
Currently: Studying a Bachelor of Psychological Science and English.
Most excited to: Encourage people to get their work featured in the Psych Analyst and hopefully to get a physical copy of the publication out!
Favourite place on campus: The Grapeshot office.
I’m studying psychology because: I find people and human behaviour very interesting!

Lara D'Orria
Currently: In my second year of uni, studying for a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours).
Most excited to: Promote a positive environment for the mental health of us budding psychologists.
Favourite place on campus: The Rooftop Garden.
